The Dark Knight at Flagship Cinemas

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted and I guess that's partly due to this post right here. This summer I was able to continue a tradition that I've been a part of since I was 14 years old. And that tradition has been the honor of painting a mural at the local movie theater in my town. After around nine different murals, I was given the opportunity to paint for my all time favorite super hero, Batman. So after approximately 50 hours of the fastest painting of my life, and the trials of dim movie theater lighting... I can finally present my completed "The Dark Knight Mural."

Thanks a lot Chris! I did work on this mural alone, it took roughly 3 to 4 weeks for completion, about 12 hours a week. The first Characters that I started took around 10 hours and I managed to finish the final ones in around 5. So in all I worked about 50 hours. Basically i've been working full time at the theater as a projectionist and I did this for them on my days off. There was an emphasis on speed because I needed to complete the mural before the movie hit theaters in July.

One really exciting bit with this mural is that the upper managers of the company may want me to come back next summer and paint famous movie characters throughout history all over the rest of the theater.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it. And again great work on all your projects this summer; the wall, gunman, refuge are amazing.

Hey, it's Kirsten Petroska! Remember me? Saw the mural in real life this summer and it is sooo awesome!! It's been so nice to see how your work has progressed over the years. This is probably my favorite one yet! Are you doing one for Harry Potter in June?

Kirsten, thanks so much for stopping by, this mural was definitely the most fun I've had on a project, seemingly how Batman is my favorite character. I'm not planning on doing anything for Harry Potter, but there may be some new surprises in store for next summer.

Lyndi, thanks a lot for your kind words! I really appreciate you taking a look. I actually did take a lot of photos, so hopefully I'm clear. Lol

Anyway thank you very much!!
